Corporal Jack Hammond , Railway Cottages, Cuddington –
Missing 1st June
Mrs. Hammond of Railway Cottages, Cuddington Northwich, has been notified that her husband Corporal Jack Hammond of the Lancashire Fusiliers, who was reported missing on June 1st, must now be presumed to have either been killed in action or died of wounds on that day.
Corporal Hammond, who was 25 years of age, in listed in September 1914, and was drafted to the front in June the following year. He was a native of Knutsford, and prior to joining the colours was in the employee of Mr Harlow, greengrocer, Knutsford. He was a member of the Conservative club. He was married in January last.
