Our Christmas party for 1916 when Tom Hughes of Norton Priory Museum and Gardens will be providing a musical Yuletide extravaganza.  Tickets are £8.00 which must be  purchased at a prior meeting of the History Society.

We will initially be meeting Samuel Oldknow (in authentic costume) who will be telling us about Mellor Mill.  This will be followed by a short talk given by Bob Humphrey-Taylor on the work of the Mellor Archaeological Trust.

Michael Crumplin, who is the Curator of the Hunterian Museum based in London's Royal College of Surgeons, is returning to give us what is sure to be a fascinating talk on combat medicine from Azincourt to Helmand.

After our usual short Annual General Meeting, Dr Simon la Frenais will be giving us a talk covering Darwin's early life, the voyage of the Beagle and what happened when he came back.
