Society visit to Nantwich – Thursday, 6 August

This August the Weaverham History Society has arranged a guided walking tour of the historic town centre of Nantwich.  Places are currently limited to 20 people and to reduce the costs and improve convenience please make your own way to the town.  We will meet our guide and start our tour at the Nantwich Museum, Pillory Street, CW5 5BQ.

Parking can be at the Civic Hall car park (£3 for 4 hrs) by the public library  or the Bowling Green car park (£3.60 for 4 hrs, card only).  As it is market day please leave plenty of time  to arrive in Nantwich, park and complete the short walk to the museum.

The walk will start at 11 am at the  Nantwich Museum and finish at about 12.30 pm.  There are plenty of benches and places to stop if required during the tour.  The tour will focus on the town centre area and include St Mary’s Church. If there is an event taking place in the church, the guide will still include it and show the exterior.

As we are a group the cost for the walking tour is at a reduced price of £8 per person.

If you wish to arrive slightly earlier at the museum you will have the opportunity to see the exhibits.  Alternatively you can do this after the walk.  Thursday is also the day when the indoor market is open, so you may wish to take advantage of this.

You can book and pay for the trip on 6 August at one of the History Society meetings or by contacting our treasurer Mick Walton at  treasurer@history.weaverham.org.uk .

Payment can be made by BACS sort code 09-01-29 account no 26685458.
