Hello everyone
I do hope that you have had a brilliant summer but are now looking forward to activities this autumn. At the moment there are the Heritage Open Days which last from 6-15 September.
Heritage Open Days is England’s largest community led festival of history and culture, involving thousands of local volunteers and organisations. Every year in September it brings people together to celebrate their heritage, community and history. It’s your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – and it’s all FREE.
To discover events happening over this period in Cheshire West and Chester you can use the link below.

Some of the experiences on offer are:
The Museum of Policing in Cheshire
Open on 14 September is the Warrington Police Station, Arpley Street, Warrington, Cheshire, WA1 1JG. You can experience a Victorian cell and dress up in a police uniform. Perhaps you can learn about the many investigations that have taken place in Cheshire over the years and speak to firearms officers, drone unit officers and public order officers.
Alternatively you can visit the Cheshire Military Museum, The Castle, Grosvenor Street, Chester, Cheshire, CH1 2DN. This museum tells the story of the soldiers of Cheshire from the 17th century to the present day.
Or you can eat the archives in Crewe at the Crewe Market Hall, Earle Street, Crewe, Cheshire, CW1 2B on Saturday 14 September.
The story of Crewe is a story of food. Oats, ice cream, and cheeses all helped fuel the growth of the town. Join theatre chef Leo Burtin to experience the flavour, smell, and stories of Crewe’s history. Leo will use Crewe Market Hall’s test kitchen to make a recipe based on the stories of Crewe held by Cheshire Archives. You’ll not only learn a new recipe but also be able to try some at the end. You’ll also take home a free recipe card and packet of ingredients so that you can prepare your own version.
How can you resist!
